Fall Happenings at the Artisans Gallery

Fall is a beautiful time of year in Southport, and the gallery is excited to share information about our seasonal activities and events.
Come down to see the gallery's seasonal section of fall and Halloween art items, including fabric art, artisan pumpkins, glass, and paintings. Items will be on display and for sale through November.
Our Case of the Missing Pumpkin event on October 10-11 was a big success. Customers who found little pumpkins hidden throughout the gallery received a gift card for $15 off their purchase of $30 or more. Stay tuned for other special shopping events throughout the year.

Each month, we feature two of our members' work in a special display on the gallery's first floor. Painter Anne Reilly and shell artist Lynn Dean are our Featured Artists through October 25—be sure to stop by and check it out.
Beginning November 3 and running through November 28, photographer Steven Middleton and Janice Watts, who makes beautiful beaded flatware and jewelry, will be the gallery's Featured Artists. You can meet Steve, Janice, and some of our other talented artists at our next First Friday event on November 6 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Dennis Hetzel & Friends will be performing on the porch, and we'll have delicious complimentary treats and beverages inside the gallery.
In December, our featured artists are Katrina Shinn and Patty Bruce, and our December 4 First Friday live music features the talented Dawn Coleman from 5 to 7 pm.
There's still time to register for a class on marbling techniques with gallery artisan and teacher extraordinaire, Carol Kidd, on October 24. The class will be held at Franklin Square Gallery in Southport from 10:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Attendees don't need any prior experience and will learn the history of this ancient technique and the steps required to make unique marbled paper. Class attendees will make several projects with their marbled paper, including journal covers, bookmarks, and notecards. To register for the class, click here.
And while we're all enjoying fall, it's never too early to start thinking about the winter holidays. Mark your calendars for our Annual Holiday Boutique on November 6 & 7 at the Homer E. Wright Events Center on Southport-Supply Road (Route 211), across from the St. James main entrance. More than 40 of our gallery's talented artisans will have tables full of unique and handmade work, including paintings, glasswork, pottery, holiday cards, woodwork, jewelry, fabric art, and more. If you're not already following the Artisans Gallery on Facebook or Instagram, click the links and follow us for more sneak peeks of items created for the market.
Happy fall, and hope to see you at the gallery or the holiday boutique!
